Flake Epoxy
Flake epoxy flooring puts a full layer of colored vinyl chips into a wet base coat, then seals it under a clear topcoat. You get color and texture in place of bare gray concrete.

A concrete patio coating puts a finished floor on the outside of your house. We coat patios, covered and open porches, front steps, landings and walkways. The system is a pigmented base coat, a full broadcast of color flake, then a clear topcoat. It is the same flake floor system we install inside, built for concrete that lives in the weather.
We are based in Lock Haven and work across Central Pennsylvania. Every job starts with a look at the concrete and at how water drains off it. Then we diamond grind the slab so the coating bonds to clean concrete. Estimates are free, so call or text (570) 772-2721.

The concrete steps and landing at this business entrance had old yellow and green paint peeling off them. We coated the steps and the landing in a gray flake system. The clip is our walk-around of the finished entry.
Before After We start at the surface. We look at the concrete and at how rain runs off the slab. Then the grinder comes out, and diamond tooling takes off old paint, loose coating and stains. Grinding also opens the concrete up so the base coat can grab it.
Minor cracks and small spalls get filled while we prep. The pigmented base coat goes down next, and we broadcast color flake across the whole surface. Once the base coat sets, we scrape the surface and vacuum it clean.
The last step is a clear topcoat chosen for sun, rain and freeze-thaw. Plain epoxy left bare in direct sun turns amber over time. The outdoor topcoat is what holds the color you picked.
Front steps take the worst of it. They get road salt in winter and full sun in summer. A porch floor coating with flake gives you grip when the steps are wet. That texture is the reason we use flake outside instead of a smooth finish.
A concrete steps coating usually starts with paint removal. Old porch paint peels in sheets, and the patched spots under it look rough. Grinding pulls the paint off, and the flake blend hides the places we filled. A concrete walkway coating runs the same way, from the sidewalk to the door.
Business entrances get the same work. We coated the concrete steps and landing at a business entrance in a gray flake system after the old paint had peeled. We are backed by about 30 years of commercial flooring experience. Inside the building, that work becomes commercial epoxy flooring.
Outdoor concrete stays wetter than a slab inside the house. Rain sits in low spots, and ground moisture moves up through the slab. We look at drainage before we quote, and the concrete has to be dry on coating day.
Weather sets the schedule. We coat exterior concrete in warm, dry weather, so this is spring through fall work in Central Pennsylvania. We give you the walk-on window for your job once we see the slab and the forecast.
A coated patio cleans up with a hose or a broom. Road brine rinses off the coating instead of soaking into bare concrete. We take this work across the corridor, from State College and Bellefonte to Williamsport and Lewisburg.
From the first call or text to the final walkthrough of the finished work, here is how it goes.
Tell us what the floor is now and what you want on it. Call or text (570) 772-2721 and we will set a time to look at it.
We measure the space and look the slab over for cracks, old coatings and damp spots. Then you get a free estimate with the system and the color laid out.
Diamond grinding opens the concrete so the coating can grip it, and it takes off old paint, sealer and adhesive. Cracks and small spalls get filled before anything is coated.
The base coat rolls out over the prepped slab. On a flake floor the chips get broadcast into the wet base coat, then the loose flake gets scraped off.
A clear topcoat seals the floor and gives it the surface you walk on. Cure time moves with the temperature inside, and we go over the finished floor with you before we leave.
